That's an odd title for a blog post. While most brands try to convince you to buy their products even if you don't need them, we want to help you make an informed decision about long-term fit.

Here are scenarios when AI-Assisted Derivative Content Creation from Videos is NOT a fit.

1. Live events are exceeding goals

If your audience is showing up in droves for your live events you shouldn't expend energy on creating derivative content and experiences.

2. Webinar registrations is the only metric that matters

If your primary (and perhaps, only) metric is live webinar registrations, then irrespective of the outcomes you are seeing - derivative content is not for you.

3. Audience experience is not a priority

If you believe that your audience should watch long video recordings to show interest or find their own way with long recordings instead of you making the experience better for them, then improving the video consumption experience is not going to align with your priorities.

4. Your videos don't have any content worth repurposing

Some videos have a very limited shelf life. If your videos (webinar recordings, presentations, interviews) don't contain any valuable content then creating derivative content is not a solution worth pursuing.

5. You don't have videos

If you don't consistently produce raw videos then having a derivative-content strategy for video is not going to pay off. While every brand has traditionally focused on text-based content, more and more brands have found video to be an important format.

6. You can quickly and easily create new video recordings

For some brands, it is easy to consistently host new webinars and record new videos. If you have an abundant supply of speakers and new content, derivatives are not for you.

7. Your video team needs more work

If your video team or agency does not have new, creativity-heavy video projects to work on then you can utilize them instead of using automation and software.

8. Your content writers and webinar teams don't collaborate

If your webinar team and content writers don't collaborate because the content streams are very different and you don't require them to collaborate, in that case, a derivative content solution is not the right fit.

9. You have lots of bandwidth and skills to use multiple tools

If you can cobble together multiple tools you can build your own low-cost way to create derivative content. This includes using transcription, video editing, animation, webpage creation, and writing tools. (Note: if you need data and integrations, it's almost impossible to find low-cost tools.)

Derivative content creation from videos (and specifically, Parmonic) is not a fit for everyone. We hope the above helps you make an informed decision.
